Christmas Lights
Every year Tavistock is brought to life by a spectacularly colourful display of Christmas Lights. For many years, the co-ordination of the erection, storage, insurance, and maintenance of the the lights was undertaken wholly by The Chamber of Commerce. However, in 2010, Tavistock Town Council agreed to assume this responsibility.
The lights are officially 'switched on' at 5.45pm on the last Friday in November, immediately prior to the start of Dickensian Evening.
The success of Christmas trading throughout Tavistock is undoubtedly enhanced by the Christmas Lights and Dickensian Evening.
If you have never visited Tavistock during the Christmas period, we would encourage you to do so this year. You will not be disappointed, and we feel sure you will want to come back time and time again.
